Typical products of Euganei Hills

The optimal climatic equilibrium for a good maturation have permitted the recognition of DOP “ appellation Euganeo Venetian Ham (Berico Euganeo) is reserved to the ham which production phases, from salting to complete maturation, have place in the typical area of  geographically individual production in the territory of Montagnana.

In Arquà Petrarca, two Sundays of October are wholly dedicated to the typical product of the place, the jujube. The province of Padua is the principal producer of white and green sparrow grass of Italy, in the areas of Monselice.

Since years ’60 is active the local consortium of  product protection and in 2002 was built the association Street of Wine in the Euganei Hills; reunite cellars, agricultural companies, receptive structure and restaurants on Hills.

In the Euganeo territory survive for century, 4 autochthon cultivation of olive grove: “Rasara”, “Marzeminia”, “ Rondella”, “Matosso”, everyone produce olives and oil of different quality and some are protected by the recognition of Appellation Protect Origin. Others cultivate variegation in the territory are “Leccino” and “Frantoio”, which are transformed second an ancient tradition before the ‘700.

Are now active a lot of crusher. Actually there are 5 and produce oil extra vergine Eganeo which is characterized for the fruity flavour, the low tenor of acidity and an after-taste which remained the sweet almond.
